HGTV, LA and Dining Room Tables

I've been watching a lot of HGTV since coming to LA. My favorite shows are House Hunters and House Hunters International. There's also another show I like to watch called For Rent, but only because it makes me angry. When it comes to apartments/homes, I think living in New York for the past eleven years has made me bitter because there was this whiny broad on For Rent a few nights ago who was looking at a huge place—A HUGE PLACE—and was like, "There's no place for a dining room table..." B*TCH, YOU'RE LUCKY TO GET A KITCHEN IN NEW YORK. I hated her. Now there's some stupid lady on House Hunters who wants a townhouse with a fireplace that she can turn on with a light switch. IT HAS TO BE A LIGHT SWITCH because she doesn't want to bend down and flip a switch on the floor. WHO DO THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE? Anyway, I know my LA update is WAY overdue (and truth be told I wrote a long one last week but for some reason it didn't save so I lost the whole thing and I was so angry that I just said, "Ah, f*ck it," and closed the computer instead of rewriting) but to give you a quick update, I AM SO HAPPY HERE. I MEAN, I'M REALLY, REALLY HAPPY. And I think living here and watching HGTV—both of these things combined—has made me realize that New York was just beating me down. I mean, the fireplace lady—yes, she's an idiot. But there's nothing wrong with wanting a dining room table. Why did I get so mad at that lady? Since being here, at least once a day I ask myself why I have lived in New York for so long. (It's like I had Stockholm Syndrome or something.) CALIFORNIA IS AWESOME. It's like the promised land. It's sunny all the time and there are birds and flowers everywhere. I have space out here. I have a sofa on the patio out here. I HAVE A SOFA OUTSIDE. I haven't seen one rat since I've been here. But hummingbirds? THEY ZIP BY MY HEAD EVERY DAY. I am so happy. I'm supposed to go back to New York in November, but truth be told, I'm not sure I will.Source: http://www.prettyinthecity.com/blog/2011/7/15/hgtv-la-and-dining-room-tables.htmlCarmen Electra

Lady Gaga To Debut 'Marry The Night' Video Thursday

Autobiographical clip, shot in various New York City locations, will premiere on E!By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: Ethan Miller/ Getty Images On Thursday, Lady Gaga will officially "Marry the Night." The singer announced on Twitter that she'll premiere her highly anticipated video for the song on E! Directed by Mother Monster herself, it marks the first time she's ever directed a video completely on her own. Gaga previously directed clips in collaboration with her Haus or former creative director Laurieann Gibson. Shot at various locations in New York City in October, including the Snug Harbor Cultural Center in Staten Island, Gaga weaves an autobiographical tale in the new clip. At another NYC location, Gaga was spotted rolling around on the roof of a car. In a preview released earlier this month, a "Girl, Interrupted"-type story line was teased. In it, Gaga is rolled on a gurney through a mental ward. She goes on a long monologue about the nature of memory and art: "When I look back on my life, it's not that I don't want to see things exactly as they happened, it's just that I prefer to remember them in an artistic way." In her Thanksgiving Day TV special last week, Gaga teased another part of the "Marry the Night" video. The clip references films like "Fame," with Gaga donning leggings and a tube top and practicing a dance routine at a studio. During a trip to India, Gaga opened up a bit about shooting the clip and being a first-time director. "It has been a wonderful experience. I worked alongside director of photography Darius Khondji, who is an absolutely amazing DP, and I worked with Gideon Ponte, who is an incredible art director," she explained. "So I'm looking forward to sharing this autobiographical video with the world. I'm very excited. It's my favorite song on the album." Michael Jackson House Contents Up For Sale

Auction items from rented home include bed on which Jackson died.By Gil Kaufman Michael Jackson Photo: Getty Images Michael Jackson's fans are notorious for their rabid worship of the late pop star. But will they pony up big bucks to own the bed on which their icon died? We will find out on December 17, when Julien's Auctions Gallery will auction off the contents of the rented Holmby Hills, California, home that Jackson was renting at the time of his death. Though the announcement of the sale does not mention Jackson by name, it lists a variety of fine art and furnishings from the residence, including a gilded Louis XV headboard (est. $3,000/$4,000) and a $30,000 watercolor painting by Maurice Utrillo. An Associated Press story revealed that the sale of contents of 100 North Carolwood Drive will comprise items left behind by Jackson. The singer passed away in the home on June 25, 2009, and on Monday his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, was found guilty of one felony count of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death. Among the pieces of evidence brought up by prosecution witnesses attesting to Murray's medical incompetence was the fact that he gave Jackson CPR on a bed instead of a hard surface. The hundreds of items up for sale in the auction include the queen-size bed where Jackson slept. In an ironic twist, just as Murray was getting news of the guilty verdict, reporters were being taken through the three-story home on a private tour in order to publicize the auction. "We want to preserve the history of these items," said auctioneer Darren Julien of the contents, which include paintings and sculptures Jackson surrounded himself with in the rented home as he tuned up for his planned "This is It" comeback tour. The house, where Jackson lived with his three children from December 2008 until his death, is also separately up for sale. One of the most-personal items on the block ($400) is a chalkboard that hung in the home's kitchen that features a note from the kids that reads, "I (heart) Daddy. SMILE, it's for free." A mirror on an antique armoire in Jackson's private bedroom featured a message the star wrote to himself that read, "TRAIN, perfection, March April. FULL OUT May," a reference to the grueling rehearsal schedule the 50-year-old was keeping up as he prepared for the string of concerts that were to begin in London in July 2009. Reporters also saw a "medication room," the bedroom shown in evidence photos at Murray's trial, where fans can pick up upholstered chairs smudged with Jackson's makeup. An attorney for Jackson matriarch Katherine Jackson said that the family is aware of the auction and has made certain that the event does not use Michael's name or likeness to help sell the items; Jackson's name is not mentioned in the promotional materials for the auction. Daniel Craig Slams the Kardashians as "F-cking Idiots"

007? More like 00-Awesome! In a new interview with Great Britain's GQ, Daniel Craig - an actor notorious for his privacy, who secretly wed Rachel Weisz in front of four people in NYC - goes off on reality TV stars in general, saying of their hypocrisy: "You can't buy your privacy back. Ooh I want to be alone. F-ck you. We've been in your living room. We were at your birth. You filmed it for us and showed us the placenta and now you want some privacy?" In case it wasn't clear to whom he was referring exactly, Craig then specifically zeroed in on the Kardashians: "They're worth millions. I don't think they were that badly off to begin with, but now look at them. You see that and you think 'what, you mean all I have to do is behave like a f---ing idiot on television and then you'll pay me millions.'" He hilariously concluded: "I'm not judging it - well, I am obviously." Preach on, Daniel! Especially during a week that has already given us the world's most pathetic pity party from Kim; and the latest money-making venture from Kourtney.Source: http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2011/11/daniel-craig-slams-the-kardashians-as-f-cking-idiots/Daniella Alonso

Elizabeth Olsen Talks 'Amazing' 2011

Actress' banner year has been 'learning experience,' she tells MTV News as part of Thankful Week.By Eric Ditzian Elizabeth Olsen Photo: MTV News By any sort of Hollywood metric, Elizabeth Olsen has had a wonderful year. In January, the actress became the talk of Sundance with the debut of the harrowing drama "Martha Marcy May Marlene" and a claustrophobic horror flick, "Silent House." In subsequent months she took on roles opposite everyone from Zac Efron to Robert De Niro, and she'll soon star with Glenn Close in the period drama "Therese Raquin." And as 2011 inches to a close, her name has cropped up in awards-season talk: She's already nabbed an ensemble Gotham Awards nomination and could well find herself in the Golden Globe and Oscar mix. Not bad. But when you consider this is the first year that Olsen has been on the entertainment scene — unless you count long-ago appearances with her sisters in those "Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley" musicals — the 22-year-old's 2011 goes from generally wonderful to simply magical (and no doubt jealousy-inducing for her peers). And that's why we've named Elizabeth Olsen one of the actresses we're most thankful for this year. We recently sat down with her to look back at her accomplishments, to look forward to what she has coming down the line, and to find out what she'll do if she ends up winning awards this season. MTV News: You know you might have to start giving some speeches soon ... Elizabeth Olsen: I have zero expectation on any of that. I didn't even have anything beforehand that I could think the movie would become what it has become, with a great distributor, good buzz. This year has been such a learning experience. It's been amazing. I feel like I have an understanding of so many different aspects after making a movie. Before I didn't even know how to make a movie, and then I realized I didn't even know how to promote a movie, and then I realized there's a whole process of doing that that's even longer than making the movie. You just have to be thankful that you have the opportunity to get to do that and people want to talk to you about your work. MTV: Is there one surreal moment from this year that encapsulates what a crazy run you've been having? Olsen: The first thing that came to my head when you said that was I remember when I finished making and I had dinner with my friend in the East Village. I was totally thrown off because I was in upstate New York for three months, and then I was in the East Village on a Saturday night and was so confused that people acted the way they acted. I was like, "Why are people so abrasive? It's so weird." I remember telling my friend, talking about making this movie, that I literally had the best experience of my life working on something. And that's including all the fun stuff you made with your friends in elementary school. MTV: Speaking of promoting a film, do you read your own press at this point? Olsen: At this point I'm interested in those things. Give me a couple months and I probably won't be. I don't know why. I think those opinions change all the time. Right now I'm just interested because I'm fascinated by the movie so I'm fascinated about what people think and get from the movie, because it is very unique. MTV: Your co-star John Hawkes has compared your performance in "Martha Marcy" to Jennifer Lawrence's in "Winter's Bone." With "Hunger Games" she's now made the leap to a high-profile franchise. Is it only a matter of time before we see you in a "Transformers" or a "Spider-Man"? Olsen: I don't know, but I don't think so. I'm just trying to pick whatever's most interesting to me at that point. I'm not trying to think of things studio or non-studio. There are a bunch of things I'd like to do in 2012 that are all very different from each other. What they all have in common are amazing people to work with and an interesting character to try and create. MTV: Above and beyond the acting, do you have ambitions to write or direct? Olsen: No, I don't. I like doing this. Dialogue I'm very bad at. I do like writing essays. MTV: That is kind of nerdy. Olsen: I know! I like writing essays. I have to write one tonight. So much fun! MTV: Have you adjusted to being on set away from friends and family? Because that experience can be isolating. Olsen: I would like to think that I'm really good at adjusting to changes. But I'm not as good as I thought I was. When I was working in Spain, that was really hard. It was a long shoot and it was Spain and I was coming in the middle of shooting, so everyone had already been there for six weeks and no one was going out to explore the city anymore. I was just by myself. But in situations like that, you do call your family. My sisters came and visited me. It was hard to be there and not even have the option of making a quick phone call and meeting up with someone. But now when I look back on being in Spain, I don't really think of it as being lonely. But at the moment, you know, I thought I really knew what loneliness was. I was like, "This is so lonely!" MTV: Let's talk about "Very Good Girls," in which you'll be co-starring with Dakota Fanning. When is that shoot going to happen? Olsen: We have to wait, because it's set in New York in the summertime. We'll do it next year. Dakota and I know each other, since we have the same mutual friends and went to the same high school. We've had dinner with the director, just chatting and trying to figure out what we can do to maybe change the script a bit, change scenes. MTV: What was the key thing that attracted you to the role? Olsen: The thing that's great about this script is I treat my relationships with my girlfriends as family and as probably the most important relationships in my life. I've had the same friends since I was in kindergarten. I feel like a lot of times in film and television, you don't get a chance to understand that type of relationship. "Sex in the City" is the closest thing you get to it. I think is a great depiction of two young girls' friendship when they're graduating high school. MTV: It seems like this role is the closest to your experience. Olsen: Totally. It's important to be in a film like that. And everyone involved is going to be great to work with. Check out everything we've got on "Martha Marcy May Marlene." For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com. Ke$ha Wants 'Till The World Ends' Remix To 'Take Over Airwaves'

Singer says her collaboration with Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj made a 'supergroup of three hot, strong women.'By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias Ke$ha Photo: MTV News Earlier this week, Britney Spears, Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj dropped their femme-fatale-friendly remix of the Spears club track "Till the World Ends." The already fun song got super-charged thanks to Minaj's cutting verses and Ke$ha's recognizable vocals. "I'm a massive fan of both the ladies I share the track with," K told MTV News on Wednesday at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards. "I wrote 'TTWE' for Britney with Dr. Luke and Max and she killed it and I loved it, but I just thought a supergroup of three hot, strong women could just take over the airwaves." Ke$ha went on to give props to both the ladies. "I'm such a massive fan of Britney and I'm such a massive supporter of Nicki and a fan, and chicks sometimes don't team up. I don't know why, but I'm, like, huge on the girl power, so I just wanted to make a power girl track take over."

The remix quickly won praise from fans who seem to think the new features step up the song's game. "You know, with the three of us, I wasn't necessarily surprised because I'm such a massive fan of Nicki Minaj and obviously with Britney I'm a fan of it, myself out of the equation," she said. "I'm just happy people like it."

So did Ke$ha (who once sang backup for Spears) feel any pressure writing a song for Britney? "There was no pressure. Writing for somebody else is really fun 'cause I consider myself a songwriter first and foremost," she explained. "So it was so much fun to put my brain in the sexy Britney Spears brain and express myself almost as if I were possessed by her." Justin Bieber Accuser Will Submit Baby For DNA Test

Mariah Yeater's lawyer in paternity case says that while lawsuit has been dropped, negotiations for settlement are ongoing.By John Mitchell Justin Bieber Photo: WireImage Justin Bieber reportedly took a DNA test Friday in response to the paternity case brought against him by Mariah Yeater, a 20-year-old California woman alleging the singer fathered her 4-month-old son, and now Yeater's attorney tells TMZ his client will submit her baby for testing. Late last month, Yeater filed a lawsuit claiming she became pregnant by Bieber during a backstage encounter following his October 25, 2010, concert at the Los Angeles Staples Center. Yeater withdrew her paternity suit a few weeks later and was dropped as a client by her initial legal team in mid-November. She went on to hire new counsel, led by Chicago-based attorney Jeffrey Leving, who told MTV News that while the suit had been dropped, negotiations for a settlement were ongoing. Bieber's legal team vehemently denies the allegations and has stated from the get-go that it might pursue legal action to protect the pop star from further false claims. "As we've said from the beginning, it's sad that someone would fabricate such a malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false claim," Bieber's spokesman, Matthew Hiltzik, said in a statement. "We'll continue to consider all of our options to protect Justin." What Are Bieber's Legal Options Now That Yeater Has Dropped Her Suit? After reports surfaced that Bieber took a DNA test in New Jersey, TMZ reported Yeater was deliberately avoiding having her child tested because she knew the results would serve as evidence against her, should Bieber's team file suit for defamation or abuse of the legal process. Her lawyer is now dispelling that notion, telling the gossip site that his client "can't wait" to submit her young son for testing. Leving, however, claimed he has a problem with the DNA test Bieber reportedly submitted because a member of his team was not present when it was administered. The lawyer said he has been in touch with Bieber's legal counsel, headed by Howard Weitzman, and hopes both teams can reach an agreement on DNA-testing protocol. Bieber has maintained a positive attitude throughout the ordeal. He has not altered the promotional tour for his holiday album, Under the Mistletoe, including a recent performance at the American Music Awards and on the "Today" show, and told MTV News last week at the Pencils of Promise charity event that he's doing "great." Earlier that day, he spoke of the paternity case briefly with New York's Z100 radio station, saying, "As far as the whole baby situation, it's unfortunate that it had to happen like that. People make false accusations, but things happen in this industry, and you have to keep your head high and be positive." Lindsay Lohan Admits To Failing Drug Test

And THIS is why early discharges from rehab are generally a bad idea {sigh}. Lindsay Lohan confessed on twitter that she had, indeed, failed a drug test. Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result. TMZ is now reporting that Lindsay actually failed two drug tests. In addition to landing her in jail, this setback could also further derail Lindsay's career, according to TMZ. Lindsay is now relying on Judge Elden Fox to allow her to leave California to shoot "Inferno" in Louisiana and possibly fly to New York City for "Saturday Night Live." Here's the problem. Sources connected with the case have been telling TMZ ... if Lindsay were to fail a drug test the judge would probably pull the plug on out-of-state-travel -- a privilege for Lindsay, not a right. ...But all bets are off now that Lindsay has flunked two tests. And sources close to Lindsay somehow already know the big wigs on "Inferno" are pissed that she may have screwed up again, so flying to Louisiana may be a moot question. You can't really blame the 'Inferno' producers for being upset. It looks like the best thing for Lindsay at this point is a long-term stay in an inpatient facility that focuses solely on drug abuse (not drug problems and psychiatric problems, which is what the UCLA program did). This is really just TOO sad. Photos by FAME Source: http://www.imnotobsessed.com/2010/09/18/lindsay-lohan-admits-to-failing-drug-testBrittny Gastineau

The pop singer created a special message T-shirt, featuring a purple zebra, that proclaims "We R Who We R," the title of her hit anthem about individuality. The shirts sell for $35, with all proceeds supporting the HRC's work to achieve equality for the LGBT community. According to the HRC website, only 1,000 shirts will be produced. Others are also using the day to bring awareness to LGBT issues. Several notable celebrities will be honored by the Equality Forum, which is hosting an event and profiling notable LGBT members in pop culture. As LGBT History Month rolls on throughout October, Ricky Martin, Wanda Sykes, "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy and Pedro Zamora, a former "The Real World" castmember turned AIDS activist, all will be profiled by the organization. "We're the only minority worldwide that's not taught history at home, in school or religious institutions," said Malcolm Lazin, Equality Forum's founder and executive director. "Like every group that's been marginalized, it really helps to make the case why we should take real pride in ourselves and our community." Since launching the program five years ago, over 200 icons have been profiled, including Jane Lynch, Lady Gaga and Neil Patrick Harris. Lazin called LGBT month "empowering and life affirming." The message comes amid increased awareness about young people being bullied, including MTV's A Thin Line campaign. The MTV film "DISconnected," which premiered Monday night, focuses on issues in a world where technology controls personal lives. "I see the viciousness of people every day," said "Jersey Shore" star Vinny Guadagnino on the "DISconnected" after show. "I kind of want to be a soldier in the field, so to speak, and try to combat the negativity with a positive message. I want to help open people's eyes up, like this movie does, to the negativity." Charlize Theron Teases Kristen Stewart 'Showdown'

'I'm just really, really, really hoping I get to kill her,' the 'Snow White and the Huntsman' star jokes to MTV News.By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Charlize Theron in "Snow White and the Huntsman" Photo: Universal Ever since the trailer arrived for Kristen Stewart's next likely blockbuster, "Snow White and the Huntsman" -- a.k.a. her first big post-"Twilight" movie -- we've been chomping at the bit for more info about the film. Luckily, MTV News had a fun-filled chat recently with Stewart's "Huntsman" co-star Charlize Theron, during which the South African-born beauty revealed that she and Stewart are about to shoot the film's climactic battle sequence. "I'm still shooting , I'm going back in two days," Theron told us as she promoted the comedy "Young Adult." "I haven't really worked with . I've done some small things with her, but we're about to shoot our big showdown, and fingers crossed for me. It's the big battle. I'm just really, really, really hoping I get to kill her," she said with a smile. "That is how the story ends up, right?" While the Rupert Sanders-directed flick is a new adaptation of the classic fairy tale, somehow we don't think Theron will get her wish. Maybe her Evil Queen will wound Stewart's Snow White in some way, but death doesn't seem too likely. For her part, Stewart has had nothing but praise to heap on the film -- so much so that she's open to the idea of doing more than one movie as the fairest one of all. "Oh, man, to be totally candid and honest with you, when I first signed on to this thing, the idea of doing another franchise was like, 'Wow, cross that bridge when it comes.' It was something so far outside my realm of thinking," Stewart told us recently. "I was so focused on the first one, and I thought, 'Maybe, maybe,' but I've got stars in my eyes. I'm literally over the moon about what I'm doing right now," she said of her work on "Huntsman." "Yes, I would love to ." Check out everything we've got on "Snow White and the Huntsman." Comedian Patrice O'Neal Dies At 41

Charlie Sheen roaster suffered a stroke in October.By Jocelyn Vena Patrice O'Neal Photo: Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic Patrice O'Neal has died at age 41. The news of his death was was confirmed by his co-star on "The Opie & Anthony Show." The comedian and radio personality suffered a stroke back in October. O'Neal was best known for his work as a stand-up comedian but also appeared in several films like "25th Hour," "Scary Movie 4" and "Furry Vengeance." In addition to being a regular guest on Opie and Anthony's show, he also made multiple appearances on "Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn," "Chappelle's Show" and "The Office." Click for photos from the life and career of Patrice O'Neal. Just this past September, he was one of the many comedians who poked fun at Charlie Sheen during his "Comedy Central Roast." He also hosted VH1's "Web Junk 2.0" back in 2006. Earlier this year, his Comedy Central special "Elephant in the Room" premiered on the network. For those who knew him best, it was his bigger-than-life personality that will be missed most. "Yes it's true that our pal Patrice O'Neal has passed away," Opie, a.k.a. Gregg Hughes, tweeted. "The funniest and best thinker i've ever known PERIOD. #devastated." He then tweeted out a link to a video of the late comedian laughing on the radio show, simply adding, "Patrice O'Neal Greatest Laugh EVER." Born in Boston on December 7, 1969, O'Neal got his start on the stage and in the early '90s and moved to Los Angeles to shoot for the big leagues. Eventually, his stand-up career resulted in smaller roles in films, as well as the HBO comedy special "One Night Stand." He had been living in the New York area at the time of his death. The New York Daily News reports that O'Neal died Monday night. Shortly after his October stroke, his friend and fellow comedian Jim Norton opened up about his condition on the radio. "We don't know how he is. We don't know how he's going to be," Norton said. "I didn't want to do this by myself. I wish we had more news for you." 'The Muppets': The Reviews Are In!

Critics are overwhelmingly happy with the big-screen reboot featuring Kermit and the gang.By Kevin P. Sullivan Miss Piggy in "The Muppets" Photo: Muppets Studio It's time to play the music. It's time to light the lights. It's time to meet "The Muppets" for the first time in over 10 years. Everyone's favorite felt friends are back in a big-screen reboot brought to life mostly on behalf of the hard work of lifelong Muppet fan Jason Segel. The reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. (You can see our own rave here.) Critics have praised the return of the Muppets as fun, warm, family-friendly fare, true to the characters and the fans who have loved them for decades. Check out our roundup of the reviews. The Story "A clever idea holds this reboot together, as simple as making one brother (Gary, played by Segel) human and the other (Walter, voiced by Peter Linz) a Muppet in love with the Muppets legacy. (He sports a Kermit wristwatch.) The locale is Smalltown, USA, which Gary and Walter introduce to us in the opening number, 'Life's a Happy Song.' Gary, his schoolteacher sweetheart Mary (Amy Adams) and Walter journey to Los Angeles for a vacation. Touring the old Muppet Studios facility, the trio learn of the plan to raze the historically significant and sentimentally priceless structure. There's oil under the ground, see, and the weaselly millionaire (Chris Cooper) after it doesn't give a Gonzo's patoot about nostalgia. To preserve the old homestead the visitors must gather together the Muppets from various locales and raise $10 million in a save-the-Muppets telethon." — Michael Phillips, The Chicago Tribune The Songs "The setup works like a charm. So do the songs, with several new ones by star Bret McKenzie. Adams rocks out on 'Me Party.' And Segel's heartfelt ballad 'Man or Muppet?' deserves Academy attention as the movie song of the year." — Peter Travers, Rolling Stone The Comeback "As a theatrical troupe, the Muppets haven't exactly been AWOL these past dozen years; the gang rocked YouTube in 2009 with their kick-ass rendition of Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody.' But they've certainly been lying low while our twitchy, tweet-y times have favored snarkier, more air-quote-driven entertainment, even from puppets. And in a way, that showbiz hiatus has worked in favor of The Muppets. For adults, the movie's gentle, clever, unironic humor feels freshly, trendily retro now, enhanced by laughs provided in cameos from a very up-to-date roster of stars." — Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly The Muppets "These are the same old, adorable Muppets, as sweetly innocent and likable as ever. Winking at itself, the movie is casually, amusingly self-reflexive. In one joke Kermit the Frog considers telephoning President Carter. 'The Muppets' makes no attempt to match the wisecracking hipness of the 'Shrek' movies. If it doesn't provoke belly laughs, it elicits many affectionate chuckles." — Stephen Holden, The New York Times The Final Word "The remarkable thing about the Muppets, then and now, is what distinctive personalities and presences they have. When 'The Muppet Movie,' the first in the series, came out in 1979, there was astonishment that — ohmigod! — Kermit was riding a bicycle! How could a Muppet do that? Today, characters can do anything in the movies, but these Muppets are still played by Muppeteers, and they're still endearing." — Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times Check out everything we've got on "The Muppets." MTV News Now Casting Election 2012 Documentary

MTV is looking for millennials to talk about the upcoming presidential election.By Gil Kaufman President Barack Obama Photo: MTV News Whether you've tuned in to all the Republican debates so far or are cooling it on the sidelines until the action really heats up next summer, MTV News wants to talk to you about the upcoming 2012 presidential election. We're filming a documentary about the 2012 race and are looking for young people to take part in a show chronicling how millennials are feeling about the race between President Obama and his eventual Republican rival. The program will shoot between November 28 and December 11 nationwide, and anyone 18 and older interested in taking part should e-mail election12@mtvnmix.com and put "Election 2012" in the subject heading. Prospective participants should also include the following information: name, 18+ (yes or no), gender, phone number and hometown, as well as whether or not you are in school; if so, what school do you attend, and if you are currently working, what is your job? We would also like to know which issues, if any, you are passionate about (jobs, health care, education, immigration, etc.) and how you would describe your views on the 2012 election in one sentence. Producers also ask that you include a picture of yourself. The questions are intended to ensure that participants represent a diversity of interests and political views. In the midst of ongoing financial difficulties, President Obama is gearing up to launch his re-election campaign against a field of Republican contenders. Though the lead has changed a number of times over the past few months, at press time the leading contenders on the GOP side include former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, ex-House leader Newt Gingrich, former Godfather's Pizza boss Herman Cain and fading Texas Governor Rick Perry. Kate Gosselin Milks, Denies Facelift Rumor

Speculation over whether Kate Gosselin recently got plastic surgery - namely a facelift - started brewing last week, and the reality mom recently addressed them directly. Any attention's good attention at this point, right? Like any good D-list celebrity would, she managed to not only milk the scandal a bit, but parlay the PR into a shameless plug for her day job. Gotta hand it to her there. Evidently last week's Kate Gosselin face lift rumor was just that - a rumor. She does look awfully well rested and youthful for having eight kids, so you can kinda see it, no? Anyway, "With all the buzz about me having had a facelift, I will confirm I have not had one (I am only 36!!!)," she wrote on CouponCabin (dot) com, where she now works. "But, I take all of the talk about how rested and young I look as a compliment! So thanks! Having said that, it brings me to some great skin care deals below! Enjoy!" There you go, people. 'Breaking Dawn': How Long Can It Top The Box Office?

'Twilight' flick blew past 'The Muppets,' but faces formidable holiday-movie competition in the coming weeks.By Kevin P. Sullivan Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in "Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" Photo: Summit Entertainment The box-office battle of Thanksgiving weekend has come and gone, and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" once again emerged as the victor. The penultimate entry in the vampire romance series pulled off an impressive haul of an estimated $62.3 million, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com. The weekend brought the film's domestic total to roughly $221 million, as it survived formidable competition from "The Muppets," which earned a respectable $42 million. But what do the upcoming weeks hold for "Breaking Dawn - Part 1"? We consulted some box-office experts to find out. One of the biggest questions right now for "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" is whether it will continue to dominate the box office for a third week in a row. With only "Shame" — a small indie film by comparison — opening next week, the stage is set for another rematch between "Breaking Dawn" and "The Muppets." Phil Contrino from Boxoffice.com said there is some potential for growth in the case of "The Muppets." "It'll be close between and 'The Muppets,' because has much better word of mouth," he said, but he indicated that it was too soon to say which would come out on top. Jeff Bock of Exhibitor Relations, on the other hand, sees the weekend going to "The Muppets." The fight for second place will be between "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" and "Hugo," he said. " 'Breaking Dawn' is performing almost identically to 'New Moon' and will likely dip another 60 to 65 percent next weekend and gross $14 million to 16 million," Bock said. "That probably won't keep it at #1, as family films hold exceptionally well during the holiday season. That means 'The Muppets' will jump to #1, and depending on how many screens 'Hugo' jumps to, it may be in a fight for second place." Both Bock and Contrino expect "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" to finish its domestic run in the range of $300 million but say that we should expect a steep drop-off once more holiday films like "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" hit theaters. "It's still going to fall fast," Contrino said. "By the time 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' and 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' hit, the audience will have almost entirely disappeared." 'Hugo' Director Martin Scorsese Speaks On His Productivity, Legacy

'One tries to do the best you can with each picture, hopefully continue making them,' renowned filmmaker tells us.By Kara Warner with reporting by Josh Horowitz Asa Butterfield in "Hugo" Photo: Paramount Pictures Martin Scorsese's career is one of such significance and acclaim that the Oscar-winning director could retire from the business right now, knowing that his living-legend status would remain intact. It is clear he has no plans to slow down, however, due to the fact that in the last year alone, he's been involved in five feature film and documentary projects, the most recent being his first family-oriented film, the critically acclaimed "Hugo." When MTV News caught up with Scorsese recently, we asked him to explain the secrets behind his productivity. "There seems to be a sort of urgency, an interest in making comments on certain aspects of life and the world around me, the people, culture today," Scorsese said when asked if he's working under his own self-imposed deadlines or urgency to complete projects. "Whether it's trying to deal with how art inspires a young person — and that is 'A Letter to Elia' — or trying to create a spectacle of American enterprise and corruption as Terry Winter and his show that I'm working on with him, 'Boardwalk Empire,' or people speaking their minds and very strong opinions, like Fran Lebowitz in 'Public Speaking,' but even more so was working for five or six years on 'George Harrison: Living in the Material World,' with David Tedeschi. That is interesting because that was finished at the same time as 'Hugo.' Those five projects were finally released all within one year." We then asked if with this sudden urgency, Scorsese is conscious or concerned with preserving his legacy as a filmmaker. "Not really, maybe I at one point," he admitted. "I'm not quite sure anymore. I don't really know. I think at one point in the early '90s, there seemed to be a lot of films being made here in America and in China and around the world that had been inspired by 'Mean Streets' ... that may still be the case that may not be the case, I don't know anymore. One tries not to think of that. One tries to do the best you can with each picture, hopefully continue making them and that they mean something, that they matter to people." Lil Wayne, T.I., Wiz Khalifa To Get 'Sleazy' With Ke$ha

Tip confirms second remix in the works for track, which previously featured a remix verse from Andre 3000.By Jocelyn Vena Ke$ha Photo: MTV News Ke$ha's already gotten "Sleazy" with Andre 3000. Now, a few more rappers want to get dirty with the glittery pop singer. XXLmag.com reports that T.I. plans to jump on the track, and Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa will also be joining Andre and Tip on a new version of "Sleazy." Weezy should be a welcome addition to Ke$ha's dance tune, as it sounds somewhat like Wayne's single "A Milli." And while not much else is known about the remix, T.I. promised that he's going to go big with his verse. "I haven't heard anybody but mine. ... I'm gonna put my money on mine," the newly freed rapper, who ended an 11-month prison sentence in September, told the website. The Andre 3000 remix dropped earlier this year and appears on K-Dollar Sign's album Cannibal. The guys will have a lot of swagger to compete with because when Andre appeared on the first remix, he had this to say: "We start out so cute in our baby pictures/ That mama shot for our daddy so that he wouldn't forget you/ He forgot anyway, but hey, one day he'll remember/ If not, he's human, I'm human, you human, we'll forgive him/ I call her Keisha, she like it because it's 'hood to her/ She call me Andre 6000 because I'm good to her." Tip told XXLmag.com that his appearance on the Ke$ha song is just one of many remixes he's amped about. He has also worked on remixes for Meek Mill and Rick Ross's "Ima Boss," as well as Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne song "N---as in Paris." "I'm looking for some more records to jump on," he said. "That's what I'm doin' right now. I'm commandeering hit records right now. I'm hijacking hit records. If you got a hit, I'm on it." 'Dark Knight Rises' Trailer Of My Nightmares

Clichés Warner Bros. needs to avoid in trailer, which premieres December 16, in this edition of The Weekly Rising.By Kevin P. Sullivan Christian Bale and Tom Hardy film "Dark Knight Rises" Photo: Getty Images A great trailer is a challenge to pull off. It needs to strike a delicate balance between not showing enough and giving everything away. A trailer establishes the tone and look of a film without getting too deep into the story to ruin the actual movie. The pressure is now on for "The Dark Knight Rises" and its theatrical trailer, which will premiere in front of "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" on December 16. With so many looking forward to the conclusion of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, the first full-length trailer needs to make the appropriate impact. Unfortunately, a great trailer doesn't always get made. Studio execs can tinker with it into oblivion in the hopes of hitting all four quadrants. Here's an outline for the "Dark Knight" trailer I don't want to see. Vrooommmm, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. Fade into the Warner Bros. logo surrounded by falling building debris, just like the teaser trailer. Vrooommmm, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. Fade into the Legendary Pictures logo surrounded by falling building debris, just like the teaser trailer. Vrooommmm, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. Suddenly, an "Inception"-esque Bwooonnng! rings outs to remind everyone of how much we all liked that movie. That's always a good way to get people's attention. Every other vaguely sci-fi action movie since last summer has used it in their trailer. Why shouldn't we? We pan over the Gotham cityscape. Pay no attention to the fact that it doesn't look like Chicago anymore. This is just a different part of the city, the Little Pittsburgh district. From that, we take a closer look at the city. It's seven years later and things aren't great. The homeless riddle the streets. Someone smashes a window with a brick. A street vendor feeds his kids the falafel he sells from his cart. "Gotham!" yells the muffled voice of Tom Hardy, as the villainous Bane, in a voice-over, sounding kind of like an elderly British woman. "Take back your city!" While the voice speaks, we cut to a slightly older Commissioner Gordon staring at the broken Bat signal, then John Blake slamming some handcuffed punk against the hood of a car. Finally, there's a slow fade onto Bruce Wayne. He's staring at his Batsuit, stored behind a thick pane of glass in the fully restored Batcave. Transition to soft piano music. Tell Hans to string together four or five chords. Play them each 10 seconds apart. This will let them know there's some really heavy stuff going on here. "Master Wayne?" Alfred calls from the top of the stairs. He's in his bathroom, and it's clearly late. Bruce turns to look at his loyal butler. "Are you all right?" Alfred asks, with sadness in his face. We're back with Bruce. He turns to face the encased suit and studies it for a moment. "I'm fine." Now tell Hans to start up that cool chanting he had all those nerds do online. The one they yelled into their parents' computer. Deshy! Deshy! Bah-Sah-Rah! Bah-Sah-Rah! The citizens are gathering, and it's not for "The Taste of Gotham" — that's next week. They're revolting. There are riots in the streets. Things are on fire. People are jaywalking all over the place. It's chaos! Everyone in Gotham is heading in one direction, toward something that looks like courthouse steps. Toward Bane! He's there in his new fur-lined coat from the Burlington Coat Factory. He watches as people approach him and the mercenaries flank him on each side. The picture of Harvey Dent is in his hand. The mercenaries drag forward a hostage. He looks like a businessman, clearly some government type. Let Nolan figure it out. Bane is going to kill him. We're back in the Batcave. Bruce watches on a set of monitors everything that's taking place. When he sees the hostage, he bolts for his suit. Finally decked out as Batman, he heads for the Batpod, but someone is already there. It's Catwoman! She kicks the bike to life and takes off out of the cave. "Perfect," Batman says. From there, just cut together a few seconds of each awesome set piece, and let the audience know about everything cool that's going to happen. Bane and Batman fight. Batman leads the police against Bane and his army of ticked-off citizens. Hint at the origin of Bane. We finish at a party. Alfred brings Bruce over to a most delightful young lady he just met. He's hoping to get his master over the whole "Rachel blew up" thing. We approach a raven-haired beauty from behind. "Master Bruce, I have to introduce you to the most delightful young lady. Miss, you were saying your name was?" She turns. "Selina Kyle." Everyone's minds explode. That's how you make a trailer. If Warner Bros. wants to make the fans happy with the first theatrical trailer, they should focus on tone and not the story. We're fast-forwarding seven or eight years, so a lot has changed. There's more than enough to catch up on just within the city of Gotham to fill a trailer. What kind of shape is Bruce Wayne in? Has he been gone all these years? The detail about the chronological jump forward is just the right note to whet appetites and keep people hooked until July. Be sure to check out all of our updates from over the weekend on our Splash Page. What do you want to see in the trailer? Let me know on Twitter via @KPSull, and we'll discuss next week. After writing hits for Usher ("There Goes My Baby"), Beyoncé ("Sweet Dreams") and Diddy-Dirty Money ("Hello Good Morning"), to name a few, one of Rico's biggest hits to date is Kelly Rowland's "Motivation." "It came about in a truly organic way," Rico told Mixtape Daily of the Jim Jonsin-produced "Motivation." "We had this meeting in New York: myself and Sylvia and Kelly. And they just were saying, 'We need to find that single; we need that big single.' Everybody was asking for an uptempo, actually. "I flew down to Miami the next day, and that Tuesday, we got back in the studio, and Jim started playing these chords, and then coming up with these little sounds — the signature sounds that Jim comes up with. I just told him to lay it like a skeleton idea, and I jumped in the booth, and I started with the verse, and I kind of sang my way all the way through the record." Rowland, formerly of Destiny's Child, was in the studio while Rico was laying down the reference track and made her regard for the song known immediately. "Kelly was there and watched the whole process," Rico recalled. "As soon as I finished singing the demo, usually an artist wants to live with it or listen to it for a little while. She just said, 'I want to cut it right now.' So she jumped in the booth, and we cut the record." "Motivation" became the lead single for Rowland's third album, Here I Am, which was released in April. The song, which peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, features a verse from Lil Wayne. "Lil Wayne got out of jail a few days later, and as soon as he got out of jail, went to see him, and he jumped on it," Rico explained. "It was the most organized situation ever. It was nothing contrived about it." There's been nothing manufactured about Rico's accomplishments either. Starting his musical career as a rapper, he has signed former Roc-a-Fella rapper Young Chris to his Universal/Motown-distributed Division 1 label. After leaving Florida A&M to pursue music, Rico caught the attention of Usher, and penned songs for the R&B singer, including "Throwback." Other artists soon benefitted from his songwriting, including T.I., Pleasure P and Mario. Rico takes pride in being versatile with his talents, preferring not to make specific songs intended for specific artists only. "Sometimes, when you keep an artist in mind, you'll limit yourself," Rico explained. "You won't go a place that they probably would go because you're thinking, "Nah, she wouldn't say this," or "He wouldn't do this," or "He wouldn't say this," and "This melody is out of the way for them." "When I get a chance to just get into the studio and just write music and just produce music and sit at the piano and tell a guy where I want to hear the chords and create the progressions and just freely make music, it's a lot more fun." Lately, Rico has been back in the studio with Usher. In 2007, he was signed to the singer's former US Records via J Records. But his debut album was never released, and he and Usher went their separate ways. But as Rico become a songwriting force, the two eventually started working together again. The first song they recorded was the Grammy-winning "There Goes My Baby" from 2010's Raymond v. Raymond. Now, Rico is working on Usher's forthcoming album and embracing the pressure of surpassing its predecessor's platinum sales and critical success. "I feel like this is what separates the boys from the men," Rico said of working with Usher. "This week, we been creating records together. We had two mics, two headphones set up in the booth, and we just sit there and vibe out. "These first few days have been amazing. We got four records cut so far that sound super amazing. I'm super excited about it. I'm just anxious for the world to hear it." For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines. Lil Wayne, T.I., Wiz Khalifa To Get 'Sleazy' With Ke$ha

If you got a hit, I'm on it." 'Breaking Dawn - Part 1' Ends In A 'Very Organic Place'

'Everybody debated it a lot,' screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg says of back-and-forth over where to split the finale.By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" Photo: Summit Entertainment If you were among the devoted "Twilight" fans who lined up to see "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" over the weekend, then you already know the film has a pretty dramatic conclusion. But MTV News has learned that the first of the two-part finale wasn't always intended to end where it does, even if it seems like the obvious choice. When we caught up with screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg and director Bill Condon shortly before "Part 1" hit theaters, the creative duo admitted to a lot of early discussions trying to decide the best place to split the final two movies. While Rosenberg and Condon felt that the current ending was the most "organic" place to pause before "Part 2," the studio wanted to make sure it was a spot in the story line that would best serve the entire series. "We went back and forth a lot and, initially, this seemed like a very obvious place for the split, but then as the creative process went forth, myself, the studio and Stephenie , Wyck and everybody debated it a lot," Rosenberg said. "I tried a couple different things but ultimately this was a natural, very organic place to split it." Condon said he was always a defender of the existing split, even if many members of the creative team debated him on it. "When I came on, I really felt very strongly this is where it should be ," he told us. Fans of Meyer's novel should have a general idea of where "Part1" ends even if they haven't seen the movie. But if you're afraid of spoilers, we'll just say that Bella (Kristen Stewart) undergoes some pretty significant changes as the film winds to a close. Rosenberg actually considered a split that would have pushed "Part 1" even further along in the novel. "Pushing from further into the second movie, pushing into the first act of the second movie," she said of the other options she had toyed with. "But it wasn't organic, it wasn't right." Do you think the filmmakers chose the right place to split the two "Breaking Dawn" films? Share your thoughts in the comments! Angelina Jolie Talks Directing, Motherhood on "60 Minutes"

Finding herself as the focal point of a feature during Sunday night's (November 27) episode of "60 Minutes," Angelina Jolie offered up a new interview for the television news magazine. During the course of the segment, the 36-year-old actress spoke about her upcoming directorial debut titled "In the Land of Blood and Honey" along with her personal life. Though she was met with mixed reactions when she revealed plans to direct the Bosnian/Serbian based picture, Miss Jolie explained why she continued forth with the project, telling, ?I felt there was just so much I didn?t know about that time? that it was something important for us to talk about and revisit and learn from.? And though it was a strenuous undertaking, Angelina continued to say that she enjoyed the behind-the-camera experience. ?I don?t know if it was the subject matter or just that we all came together in a very specific time and environment about something that meant something to us, but somehow it became probably the best experience I?ve ever had,? she told. Also touching on the topic of her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, the "Salt" actress had nothing but praise while proclaiming that she can't dream of living up to the high bar set by Bertrand. "I will never be as good a mother as she was. I will try my best, but I don't think I could ever be. She was-- she was just grace incarnate. She was the most generous, loving-- she's better than me," she praisefully told. 'The Muppets': The Reviews Are In!

Today, characters can do anything in the movies, but these Muppets are still played by Muppeteers, and they're still endearing." — Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times Check out everything we've got on "The Muppets." Taylor Swift, Rihanna Dress To Impress At Billboard Awards

Nicki Minaj, Ke$ha, Selena Gomez also make fashion splash on red carpet, as showgirl style rules at the Las Vegas event on Sunday night.By Jocelyn Vena Taylor Swift at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards Photo: Jordan Strauss/ Getty Images On Sunday night, some of the biggest names in the music industry hit up the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas and decided that sparkles and sequins make for the perfect additions to any red carpet get-up. Well, it is Sin City after all. Taylor Swift always seems to bring some of that Nashville sparkle to any red carpet. She arrived at the show in a pale-hued, sequined Elie Saab gown. Nicki Minaj showed off her signature sense of style in her baby-blue, body-hugging spandex Mark Fast catsuit. Selena Gomez turned up the style dial in a sexy, cut-out black Dolce & Gabbana gown that she paired with red strappy sandals with sparkly bow detailing. Like Gomez, Ke$ha opted for some cut-out detailing in her sparkly, slate-gray dress with tulle skirt. Rihanna looked white hot in her men's tailored Max Azria suit, which she kept sexy and feminine by not buttoning her shirt all the way. Fergie went S&M chic in her little black bandage-type dress by Hervé Léger. Nicole Kidman also wore black. She paired a casual braid hairstyle with a long black gown and Keith Urban. British pop cutie Kyle Minogue looked funky in her little black lacey dress. Inside the show, Britney Spears sat in the audience wearing a skimpy black dress of her own, her hair in loose curls, with little-to-no accessories. While some stars kept the color scheme low-key, Keri Hilson decided to stand out in her billowy little yellow dress paired with a turquoise-colored belt. Kelly Rowland showed off some of her best assets in a body-hugging, bright pink bandage dress. The fellas also looked tight on the carpet. Joe Jonas wore all black with white sneakers, Ne-Yo paired his periwinkle suit with a Yankees cap and Justin Bieber wore black tuxedo pants with a gold-lamé tuxedo jacket. Beyonce And Jay-Z Expecting A Baby Girl?

Kelly Rowland seemingly let the news slip on a red carpet in London.By James Montgomery Jay-Z and Beyoncé Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Are Beyoncé and Jay-Z expecting a baby girl? Well, according to one of Bey's closest friends, the answer is "yes." While in London to attend the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards on Thursday, it was none other than Beyoncé's former Destiny's Child mate Kelly Rowland who let it be known — rather inadvertently, it would seem — that the high-powered couple would be having a girl. "I'm so happy for my sister and her husband. They're so happy in this moment right now, as they should be. They made a little bundle of love. I'm so excited for them," Rowland told U.K. news agency Bang Showbiz. "I have no idea what I'm going to buy Beyoncé at the baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible. She won't be spoiled, but she will be very well looked-after." So there you have it. Of course, there's yet to be an official statement from the couple, and a spokesperson for Beyoncé did not respond to MTV News' request for comment on the matter. Last month, Rowland told MTV News that she was excited "to be an auntie" to the couple's child and added that she can't wait to babysit. And assuming she hasn't been placed on Jayoncé's blacklist for letting the information slip, Rowland also told Bang Showbiz she's planning to make herself available to help out the couple as much as possible. "I'll be on hand for babysitting duties," she said. "And I'm actually very good with messy diapers." Justin Bieber Doing 'Great' In New York City

Nonprofit Pencils of Promise held a gala in Bieber's honor on Thursday night.By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: Getty Images NEW YORK — Justin Bieber is a busy guy these days. He's been all over the Big Apple spreading the word about his new album, Under the Mistletoe, and continuing his work with various charitable organizations. On Thursday night, Bieber attended a gala held in his honor for his work with the Pencils of Promise organization. Started by Adam Braun, his manager Scooter's brother, the organization builds schools for children across the world, helping bring education to places that might otherwise not have access to it. "Tonight's event is very special because I got these two gentlemen here, but it's really great to be here. Basically we're being honored. He's honoring us, which is spectacular," Bieber told reporters, before Scooter chimed in, "You know what's great is it's honoring the whole organization and all their work, so it's great to be here." The pop star has been one of the organization's most prominent supporters, and he shared his enthusiasm for the charity at the event. "It feels great," he told MTV News on the red carpet outside of Espace, where the gala was being held. "It's been great just to be here and be honored. It feels very great. I'm here for this guy and for all the people working really hard at Pencils of Promise." Beyonce Debuts New Videos -- And Her Wedding Dress!

'I Was Here' and 'End of Time' will be featured on upcoming 'Live at Roseland' DVD.By Gil Kaufman Beyonce in her "I Was Here" music video Photo: Columbia Just because Beyoncé is cooling her heels as she awaits the birth of her first child with husband Jay-Z, that doesn't mean her musical career is on bed rest. In fact, Lady B has just unleashed the seventh and eighth music videos from her 4 album, for the songs "End of Time" and "I Was Here." Though they're not the high-concept clips Bey is typically known for, they are a nice sneak preview of the singer's upcoming "Live at Roseland" DVD, which will be on sale exclusively at Walmart starting November 21. The four-night stand of shows was taped at New York's Roseland Ballroom in August and featured a mix of old favorites and new songs from 4. In the "I Was Here" video, we see a pre-pregnancy announcement Beyoncé onstage in a shimmery silver minidress, giving the crowd a bit of a windup about where the song came from. "It's taken a lot of hard work to get to where I am," she says in announcing the final tune of that show. "I searched all around the world, and I found myself. You all are my inspiration. I want to sing this last song and dedicate it to all of you guys." Beyonce As a Bride: Beautiful As Ever? Tell Us On Facebook After a clip of a very young Beyoncé thanking the judges in a talent show, the singer stands center stage and belts out the lush, inspirational ballad over a montage of home videos from her childhood, through her rise with Destiny's Child and into solo superstardom. And, oh yeah, a blink-and-you-miss-it shot even includes a peek at the voluminous white wedding gown she wore at her very private wedding to Jigga, not to mention some silly footage of Queen B getting her Slip 'n Slide on. The "End of Time" video is the opposite end of the spectrum, a red-laser-flashing uptempo dance marathon with Beyoncé and her four sexy backup dancers shaking it over the song's Brazilian drum beat. Fans get to see the many looks Bey tried on while performing the tune, including shots of her with her female dancers to others with a squad of male hoofers, as well as a wide range of costumes, from a yellow fringe number to a gold jacket and the silver number from the "I Was Here" clip. Chris Cornell Filling In For Robert Plant On Led Zeppelin Tour? That's News To Him

'I have not been approached to fill in for Robert Plant on the Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be,' singer says.By Chris Harris Chris Cornell Photo: MTV News Former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell has spoken out for the first time about rumors that he's been asked to fill in for Robert Plant on a proposed Led Zeppelin reunion tour. The trek would feature original guitarist Jimmy Page, original bassist John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham taking over on drums for his late father, John Bonham. Cornell has been mentioned — along with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar, White Stripes mastermind Jack White and Alter Bridge's Myles Kennedy — as a potential Plant fill-in. Plant has already said that he wouldn't take part in the tour. "I have not been approached so far to fill in for Robert Plant on the upcoming Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be," Cornell told MTV News. "I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumor or it might be true. But if you see anyone from Led Zeppelin around, let me know. I think I should actually fill in for Jimmy Page on the Robert Plant/ Alison Krauss tour." Cornell's denial comes just a day after Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford confirmed reports that frontman Steven Tyler recently met with Zeppelin for an impromptu jam session. "They did it for fun," Whitford said during an appearance on the syndicated show "Todd N Tyler Radio Empire." "I actually think Jimmy wanted Steven to come over and play a little bit because I think he was trying to light a fire under Robert." Rumors of a Zeppelin reunion tour have abounded since the iconic band played a single reunion set last year at London's O2 Arena. Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider added fuel to the fire last month when he revealed that the group was thinking of touring, with or without Plant. According to Snider, the rest of the band told Plant, " 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go. Here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid .' " "And he can sing the sh-- out of Zeppelin," Snider added. "They're going to hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in." In a recent interview, Jones told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought to take over for Plant. "We are trying out a couple of singers," he said. "We want to do it. It's sounding great, and we want to get on and get out there." But Jones insists that he, Page and Bonham aren't interested in finding a Plant clone. "It's got to be right," he said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be onboard." Of course, even if Zeppelin were to approach him, Cornell might be too busy to take over vocals for the band. His upcoming Timbaland-produced solo LP, Scream, will be released within the next few months. Cornell told MTV News last month that some of his fans might consider Scream something of a departure, but he doesn't see it that way. "It makes me happy that there's this perception that I have a group of fans that I'm now sort of throwing a curve at and what their reaction will be," he said. "But I've been in this situation so many times already. When I put out Euphoria Morning, my main goal was to create an album that sounded like nothing I'd done in Soundgarden, and I did that. I also had that with Temple of the Dog, where I showed up with songs that weren't necessarily riff-based. And then, of course, the pairing of me and members of Rage Against the Machine had everyone sort of speculating about what that would sound like. "It feels like I've done this so many times that when it's presented to me as being a departure, I feel that's a misconception," he added. "I feel like that's my theme at this point." Lady Gaga, Beyonce And More Musical Halloween Costumes

If you're too broke to go trick-or-treating, Bigger Than the Sound is here to help!By James Montgomery Lady Gaga as Joe Calderone Photo: Getty Images Halloween is just around the corner, and even though times are tough, that doesn't mean you shouldn't still have a kick-ass costume. And since no one wants to end up trick or treating as a lame ghost (or a "sexy border patrol agent"), I'm here to help, with a handful of homemade Halloween costumes that allow you to still dress up as your favorite artist, while not breaking the bank. Of course, if you don't have a bank to break, fret not, because a lot of my ideas don't require a costume at all — just your imagination, a fierce attitude and an awareness of irony that borders on, well, ironic. So, if you're at a loss for your next costume — or too broke to care — read on, because, boy, do I have some suggestions for you. After all, Halloween is for everyone (especially those who love candy), and who among us doesn't want to dress up like Coldplay?!? Have a look, and send me some candy! Adele: Deceptively easy. Refrain from speaking to anyone all night (vocal rest!) while firing through Marlboros like a mahjong player on a bender. For added authenticity, sell approximately one bazillion albums. Beyoncé: Take a balloon and stuff it beneath your $10,000 Reed Krakoff dress, mimic B's matronly glow with a $7,000 HD Ruby and Diamond Peel Facial, strap your $1,200 Christian Louboutin heels on extra tight to replicate the ankle-swelling side effects of pregnancy. Or just down a crate of Four Loko and get all crazy like the "Ring the Alarm" video. Britney Spears: Get a boyfriend with exactly 24 rippling abdominal muscles. Consume Strawberry Frappuccinos as if they were being discontinued. Be a commercially viable force, much to the consternation of critics and naysayers the world over. Say "y'all" a lot. Coldplay: Dress in matching, finger-painted outfits with three of your closest friends (or, in a pinch, tattered French Revolutionary garb). Donate all your candy to Oxfam. Hang out with Brian Eno. Maintain an almost annoying level of self-efficacy. Justin Bieber: Just get a snake named Johnson. Kanye West: Communicate to every single person you meet as if you were speaking in ALL CAPS. Wear sunglasses, even at night. Have a bizarre thing for the Olsen twins. Over-share when it comes to your personal feelings and sexual proclivities. Create complex, Machiavellian conspiracy theories. Treat every comment and criticism as if it were a flaming sword to the torso. Cut a Maybach in half with your pal Jay-Z. Katy Perry: Dress up as a mermaid. Or a gawky, orthodontically enhanced pre-teen. Or an S&M cheetah. Or a space alien. Or, really, you could just lick a bunch of candy and stick it to various parts of your body. Katy's simple. Lady Gaga: Sure, you could go the easy route and just trick or treat as Jo Calderone (and deliver a lengthy monologue while doing so), but where's the fun in that? Instead, why not meld yourself with a motorcycle, like the British boxer-turned-model, make a drug-fueled music video with him. Note: May not get you a ton of candy on the farms of Northern Ireland.
