LeAnn Rimes' House Hit by Alleged Drunk Driver

LeAnn Rimes is sure glad it was just her fence that got hurt when a car crashed onto her property at around 6 a.m. Monday. According to E! Online, a 20-year-old motorist driving with a suspended license ran over a stop sign, hit a light pole and then plowed through the fence of the Hidden Hills, Calif., residence the 29-year-old country singer shares with husband Eddie Cibrian and his two sons. The Lost Hills Police Department tells E! that the individual appeared to have been intoxicated at the time, though that won't be confirmed until the results of a toxicology test come in. Fortunately, Rimes is currently in North Carolina and wasn't home at the time of the accident. She took to Twitter Monday to clarify that she and her loved ones are safe -- but admitted that she's still shaken by the incident. "To address the accident that happened in front of our home this morning, everyone is ok and safe," she twittered. "However, if drunk driving was involved it is terribly sad." Sad indeed. Though no one was injured, there very easily could have been someone out walking in Rimes' gated community that would have been hurt badly had they been hit by the car -- not to mention the singer's own family. "My family could have been seriously injured and any situation where someone is drinking and driving should not be taken lightly. Needless to say, it was a very unsettling call to receive this morning," she added over Twitter. "Thank goodness the young driver and everyone at home are ok." Rimes has only seen pictures of the incident, and said in reply to a tweet that she wasn't looking forward to seeing the damage. "Yes, we are ok," she wrote. "I'm sure it will hit me when I go home tonight and see our fence. The pics are terrifying."Source: http://www.ivillage.com/leann-rimes-house-hit-alleged-drunk-driver/1-a-388034Jennifer Sky
