Mildred Baena Shares Maria Shriver's Reaction to Love Child

In an exclusive -- and shocking -- interview with the U.K.'s Hello! magazine, former housekeeper Mildred Baena speaks out for the first time since the news broke that she and Arnold Schwarzenegger had a child together more than a decade ago. According to Baena, Maria Shriver put two and two together and finally "asked point blank" about the affair after noticing a resemblance between Baena's 13-year-old son, Joseph, and Schwarzenegger. (Hello! has also published an exclusive photo of the boy with his mother.) "Last summer, I brought Joseph over to the house. Until then, he hadn't been around very much," says Baena. "After that, people in the house started whispering about how much they looked like each other." The whispers apparently made it to Shriver's ears who, according to Baena, approached her from time to time. “She would say things like, 'I’m here if you need to talk.' I sensed something was up." Baena describes the moment that Shriver finally confronted her as a surprisingly tender one between the two: "Maria asked me directly if Joseph was Arnold's son, and I just broke down. I dropped to my knees and I was crying, saying that yes he was and I was so sorry. She cried with me and told me to get off my knees. Since I was retiring soon, I said I would pack and leave right away, but she said to stay until after the holidays." As far as Schwarzenegger goes, Baena insists that she never told him expressly that Joseph was his, but she says that her son -- who responded, "Cool!" after he found out who his father is -- is looking forward to building a relationship with the ex-governor of California. Baena tells Hello!, “ a good man and I know he’s suffering too. He loves Maria.
