Nicolas Cage Arrested, Bailed Out by Dog the Bounty Hunter

Nicolas Cage was arrested in the streets of New Orleans early on Saturday morning on charges of domestic abuse battery, disturbing the peace and public drunkenness -- only to later be bailed out of jail by none other than Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman. E! reports that he mayhem began when Cage, 47, got into a loud public argument with his wife Alice Kim. The subject of the argument? Whether or not they were standing in front of their own house. According to a statement from the New Orleans Police Department: "Cage and his wife were standing in front of a residence that he insisted was the property the couple was renting. She disagreed, and Cage grabbed her by the upper arm and pulled her to what he believed was the correct address. There were no signs of injury on his wife's arm." And that's when Cage started hitting cars. No, really. "The actor then began striking vehicles and later attempted to get into a taxi," continues the statement. "At that point, an officer who had been flagged down by onlookers drove up on the couple, immediately observed that Cage was heavily intoxicated and ordered him out of the cab, which prompted Cage to start yelling. The officers subsequently took Cage to Central Lock-up." Using the word "later" to describe when Cage tried to get into a cab is important because, as a bartender from Harry's Corner who witnessed the scenario tells People, the actor initially seemed like he might go quietly with police. But according to the bartender, after starting to get into the back of the squad car, "Cage ran a block south toward the river, where he tried to get into a cab. There was a woman outside with a baby in her arms shouting, 'Please don't hurt us.'" As for the "yelling" described by the police report, TMZ reports that it was actually Cage daring the cops to arrest him -- a move that might have worked in an action movie, but is otherwise incredibly dumb. Prior to his arrest, Cage was spotted stripping down in a New Orleans tattoo parlor, drunkenly demanding a tattoo and claiming that he couldn't remember where he lived. Yikes. Turns out the abode Cage thought was his actually belongs to an elderly couple. "Apparently (Cage) had mistaken the house of my neighbors for the other house up the block that he is actually renting," Peter Bennett, who lives near the property and arrived home to find cop cars blocking off his street, tells People. "His wife was trying to persuade him from disturbing the elderly couple who do in fact live in that house." Cage's house is three doors down. After being locked up, Cage was released on $11,000 bail by America's most famous bail bondsman: Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman. But don't expect to see Cage make a cameo appearance on Dog the Bounty Hunter. "I am a truly dedicated fan of Mr. Cage and will not be granting any interviews about my client as I wish to respect his privacy," Chapman said in a statement. "I performed my duties as a bail bondsman and not in connection with our show. This is what I do for a living." Cage is in New Orleans to shoot the kidnapping drama Medallion.Source: http://www.ivillage.com/nicolas-cage-arrested-bailed-out-dog-bounty-hunter/1-a-341533Brittny Gastineau Brody Dalle Brooke Burke Brooke Burns Busy Philipps Cameron Diaz Cameron Richardson Camilla Belle Carla Campbell Carla Gugino
